“Photosensitive Erosion" explores sensory alienation during depression. Light is a sterile, invasive burden rather than a solace. Using clinical symbols and high-key imagery, I document the heavy silence and the isolation of the soul

Photosensitive Erosion

This series was born during a period of deep depression in my high school years. At that time, my teacher criticized my work, claiming I "didn't know how to take photos" because they lacked traditional beauty. That rejection haunted me, but it also forced me to realize that art is not about creating "pretty" images, but about the truth of one's internal state.

"Photosensitive Erosion" is my response. It documents the invasive, painful nature of light through a clinical, high-key lens. By capturing objects like scalpels and abandoned instruments, I translate my silence and alienation into a visual language. This project is a testament that photography can be a tool for survival and a way to voice the unspeakable, even when the world fails to see its value.
