Unexpected Discovery. This guy started posing, almost automatically, as soon as he saw I was taking his picture while he waited at the traffic light. A part of Japan Documentary Project, May, 2019.
The Girl. Initially I wanted to take a picture of this group of businessmen returning from an event. But the girl suddenly appeared in frame offering bright contrast. A part of Japan Documentary Project, May, 2019.

Traffic controller in Nha-Trang city center. This small passage is 1km long and connects a local highway (to the left) and a major tourist street (to the right) with the poor local district in between. Locals living here need to be aware of the train passing through every 30 minutes. I took a specific route through some Asian countries to show raw life close to major resort cities, underlining the adaptation process locals have undergone as a result of the widespread invasion of tourism in the region.

Mount Ijen, Indonesia, 2016. It has been more than 64 years since Mount Ijen last erupted, but the volcano is still very much alive, and it is being mined by some of the toughest men in the world. One trail unites tourists, miners and guides, who were often mine workers in the past. Part of “The Toughest Job” project.
Tired Family. This family experienced a four hour wild ride through the Indonesian roads to reach their resort village. They were captured in their first moments on the seashore.
