Parioli Pockets

Parioli Pockets is a personal journey inside Parioli, the richest neighborhood in Rome, Italy. Zoos, parties and lonely streets at night become a jungle and I'm on my way in this safari where I wonder where I belong.

Parioli Pockets is a personal journey inside Parioli, the richest neighborhood in Rome, Italy. I’ve lived there since I was little and I’ve always felt out of place growing up here. The project title comes from the magazine Parioli Pocket, an old magazine that used to circulate in the quarter. The themes concerning it were often linked to gossip among the most popular people in Parioli. Everybody wanted to appear on the magazine, everybody wanted to be seen. Growing up I’ve always felt as if I didn’t belong here, I couldn’t understand why somebody would take the appearance and popularity as life values. As a 22 year-old woman I started asking my self questions about my future, if I should move from here for finding my home. These questions gave me the kick to start moving and the strength for facing my fears.
