OWL, FOX, HEDGEHOG, DEER

A photographic return to the place where I grew up - moving between memory, place, and imagination.

The project I am presenting here is titled OWL, FOX, HEDGEHOG, DEER. All photographs were made in and around the small town where I grew up. I am revisiting these places, photographing and writing about local myths, folklore, people, and landscapes that have shaped this specific area. Although rooted in real locations, the work is not a straightforward documentary; it moves between memory, imagination, and something less easily defined. Even as I feel I belong less and less to these places, the connection remains strong.

The project originally took the form of a newspaper. The majority of the photographs were made between 2021 and 2022.
