No Concept: Contamination

A collaboration arisen from the communication and miscommunication between two artists who never actually met.

No Concept: Contamination.

I got to know Andrea Minini's incredible work about 2014 on Behance and we were in contact ever since the way many people communicates these days - Through likes and comments on each other's work. Until one day, in 2016, I casually dropped the idea of doing a collaboration together, kind of a crossover of our two different disciplines. I must say I was not expecting he'd be so thrilled with the idea, but we clicked and the whole process of brainstorming and feedback was really smooth. In fact, it took only 3 months to complete the project from the first talks.

I knew Andrea mostly for his black and white moire illustrations. And I was mostly working on my Urban Geometry project by then, which is very colorful and graphic. But somehow we ended up inverting quite a lot our usual workflow. Andrea considered the result would be much stronger if the photographs would be converted into black and white, blending colorful illustrations over them.
