This is a subconscious exploration of that small gap near a boardwalk, between water and land. A creation of life that exists only there.

A place is a place is a place.

Simply using the name of a place already invokes the imagery and emotions associated with it.

Is a place confined only to geographical definitions? Do we really need to physically be in a place in order to be in it? Can the most public place be someone’s most secret one? And, can we create a place of our own within a place that belongs to everyone else?

This is a story about a secret land that already exists in the history archives. It has been visited, photographed, iconized, overused, overcrowded, and exaggerated throughout time. It's subconscious exploration of that small gap near a boardwalk, between water and land. A creation of life that exists only there.

All photos were taken in Coney Island, Brooklyn NY.
