Meditations is a series of abstract color photographs born in the darkroom. Through intuitive play with light and material, the works invite contemplation, evoking presence, impermanence, and the quiet beauty of process.

Meditations is a series of abstract color photographs created entirely in the darkroom. By manipulating light and experimenting with unconventional tools, I explore photography as a tactile and plastic medium, closer to painting or drawing than representation. Working in complete darkness, I engage fully with light and material, allowing the process itself to reveal each image.

Each photograph emerges from an intuitive and experimental approach to light and chemistry. Techniques such as light painting and cameraless processes like luminograms let me interact directly with the photographic material. In the darkroom, there is no undo button, every movement, exposure, and chemical reaction shapes the final image. I embrace unpredictability as a method, allowing chance, disorder, and materiality to guide the work.

For me, photography is a meditative practice, a way to slow down and disconnect from the accelerating rhythm of the digital world. In an era dominated by hyper-digital images promising perfection and control, I return to photography’s tactile origins: light, chemistry, and physical engagement. Following Paul Virilio’s idea that technological acceleration diminishes our grasp of the present, the darkroom becomes a sanctuary of slowness and introspection. The resulting images celebrate fragility, impermanence, and the beauty of process, offering a contemplative and immersive experience for the viewer.
