A project exploring the aftermath of a grandfather's death and the impact it had on the family's dynamics and its patriarchal past.
After the death of my grandfather a whole world has cracked open for me. My mother and my grandmother started talking about him in a manner prior not understood. They started talking about themselves in a way prior unheard. The feeling of something dragging us down was suddenly gone. Yet the weight of his grief and tyranny has left a void. A void that cannot be filled yet bridged. By love and care. Feelings that have long been buried have finally reached daylight. They grow wild as it seems. Words burst out of our heads and remain floating in the air. Not quite perceived yet present they follow us everywhere. Our next of kin catches the tune as we reach out for peace.
