Mapuchunko

The river, a universal metaphor for the present reclaimed by time, never to be returned, is my stage for engaging in a dialogue with nature and reclaiming a measure of freedom and sanity during the renewed lockdowns of autumn 2021 in Santiago, Chile.

Assuming that everything is light and everything vibrates, that everything on Earth is alive and has consciousness, I present myself in the foundational riverbed of the city of Santiago. A mountain torrent that carves the north from the south, water of our ancestors still alive in its name: Mapu Chun Ko, water that goes lost under the earth.

Walking in silence, I search for the traces of the river's elementals. I try to capture those subtle energies that vibrate and pulse beside us, even though we can't see them with naked eye, still...
