LOOK AROUND YOU!

LOOK AROUND YOU! is a series of photographs that investigated the living spaces we have created, the products we consume and the impact they have on our lives.

The photography of the entire series borrows the aesthetics of product and advertising photography, highlighting our lives completely permeated by technology.

In my work I am generally interested in the banal, the artificial in the landscapes, spaces and products that surround us. We live in a world that often seems like an illusion, cut off from all that is natural, by layers of materialism and consumerism.

They are photos and collages of industrially manufactured mass-produced goods that have lost all emotional and often monetary value as a result of their manufacture.

This depreciation makes things unsatisfying, bad for the environment, and oftentimes downright ugly. The work thus shows photos not only of cheap goods that keep the markets going every day, but also reflects our economic system, that has permeated our entire environment and shapes our way of life.

LOOK AROUND YOU is like a cry for help, a demand to look closely at the mess we have created.
