Liminal Space

Liminal Space is an exploration of Bermuda’s natural world and how we merge with it. There is something dream like about the island of Bermuda. It is upon the edges or land and sea, light and dark or points of transition that I find this the most.

This series shot at various locations throughout the island tries to capture the tension and beauty of being from an environment such as Bermuda's. As the second most isolated place on Earth, which is a area smaller than Heathrow airport means that you are never far from the sea so it is a constant in our lives. This is a reminder of the everyday realities of living on this tiny volcanic rock we call home. More than anything these images are a celebration of that sense of place and the tension between us and the island.

This work would not have been possible without the support and talent of model Lily Lightbourne.
