Long-term project based on extended stays with communities along one of East Africa’s most remote lakeshores. Photographed on analogue film and developed by hand, the project is grounded in proximity and trust reflecting a lived experience of place.

My work is shaped by long-term immersion and the necessity of being present. I spend extended periods of time within the communities I photograph, allowing relationships to develop slowly and without clear boundaries between observer and participant.

Working with analogue film and hand-processing the material, I accept instability, darkness, and imperfection as part of the image. These qualities are not aesthetic choices alone, but a reflection of the conditions and experiences from which the work emerges.

I am not interested in producing a clear or complete narrative. Instead, I work toward a form of closeness that allows moments of everyday life to unfold without explanation, where fragility, intimacy, and resilience exist simultaneously.
