I am following the journey of people being part of a Kapa Haka group.
Kapa Haka is the name given to performing arts from Māori, the indigenous people of Aotearoa New Zealand. Kapa Haka teaches our children discipline, teamwork and gives them confidence. But it also provides the opportunity for our Māori children to thrive and succeed as Māori, etching their language, their genealogy and their history into their subconscious, creating identity and belonging.
Countless hours of practice culminate in the highly choreographed stage performance, broadcast throughout the nation and at the senior level throughout the world.
