Ixchel

Ixchel, the mayan goddess of the sea. I took this series of analog photos in Mexico, with different women. My intention is to capture the power that surrounds our bodies, as powerful as the sea.

Feminity and water, Ixchel, the mayan goddess of the sea. These are the concepts I put together in this project. She seems to float calmly, but the real story behind these images is about merging together, water is surrounding, holding and sometimes dragging her. Feminity and power, steadiness and turbulence. Swimming, breathing, surviving, being alive. All of these photos have been captured in analog format, in different Mexican shores from 2022 and ongoing.
