"I Wish You Live Forever" Your Ultimate Guide to the Matters of Life, Death, Time & Immortality
Please see my PDF- my book is almost ready to go, and this design is close to how I would like to see it in a book format one day. There are two stocks of paper- a small part of the book is designed to be printed on a transparent see through paper- red notes will explain you which pages are those.
"I Wish You Live Forever"
Your Ultimate Guide to the Matters of Life, Death, Time & Immortality.
The book will consist of pictures from a few series of mine like “Let’s Talk about Life & Death Darling”, “Immortals”, “Post Mortem Home Visits”, “Death No.1”,“I Wish You Live Forever”. All of these series explore the same subject from different perspectives, combined into one project.
What is always behind the image is a thought. The thoughts behind my photographs are my fascinations, fears, and concerns related to existence and its ending - I use photography to record these. The Memento Mori theme (Remember of Death) and thinking of Time and its “destructive” (?) powers are what drive my creative practice and shape my ideas.
The book will gather my 12-year-long study of the subjects of Life, Death, the phenomena of Immortality, and Time. My photography is a response to these themes and will be accompanied by a few condensed yet comprehensive research texts exploring these topics through the lens of past and modern science, philosophy, and various religious systems. A small selection of texts, dictionary-like definitions, word diagrams, and puzzles will be put in juxtaposition with the images to engage and provocatively invite the viewer to reflect, conclude, and potentially choose their answers to the questions raised.
I am asking many questions, and my book will aim to challenge the viewer. Why are you here? Should you fear your death or the death of what you love? What is Death? Is the passing time lost forever, or will it happen all over again? Will everything die or nothing will die?
The matters explored in my project are complex and beyond our full understanding. I feel more comfortable asking questions rather than trying to provide any answers to the unknowable. The questions will be both written and locked within the images and storytelling style, edit. The construction of the book will allow the viewer to meditate on matters of Life, Death, Time, and Immortality; the notions of Never, Forever, Infinity, and Eternity and let them choose the proposed answers or construct their own understanding.
The book will be Carbon Footprint Neutralized by donating a minimum of £2 per 1 copy of the printed book (or a minimum £1000) to charities that counteract climate change. One of them runs a project of planting trees in Africa where local communities can become more sustainable. The names of the charities helped and donations (date and amount) will be printed in the book.
Hard cover with a shiny silver sticker in the bottom left corner; 208 pages; Outer edges of the book's pages sprayed pink.
