Immigration has been a constant throughout Chile's history, but during the last decade, migration from countries with Afro-descendant populations from Central America and the Caribbean such as Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Haiti has been particularly significant.
Economic and humanitarian crises have forced thousands of people to migrate to Chile, the region's most stable country, changing the urban landscape of the big cities. Eventually the street record, ephemeral by nature, gave way to private encounters in the intimate spaces of those portrayed.
