Photographed in Florence and Milan (2023–2025) with a single iPhone, this series observes detached figures suspended in quiet moments, where stillness, melancholy, and subtle absurdity coexist.

Between 2023 and 2025, I lived mainly in Florence and Milan. After the two cameras I brought from China broke, my purple iPhone 12 became my only tool. This limitation shaped the way I look and respond to the world.

Since I began photographing in 2017, I have been drawn to subjects that appear mentally elsewhere—people and objects caught in moments of detachment. In these scenes, they are not protagonists but quiet presences embedded in their surroundings. They function less as expressive individuals and more as structural elements within the image.

I photograph instinctively, often without a clear narrative intention. The act of noticing and preserving these moments is itself the purpose. What emerges is a restrained emotional atmosphere: slow, dense, and suspended. Melancholy is present, but so is a subtle sense of absurdity and quiet humor.

This work reflects a continuous search for meaning in moments that may appear insignificant. Through stillness and distance, the images explore how attention transforms the ordinary into a space of contemplation.
