My submission and photos showing emotion and exhilaration arising with the act of returning home.
Greetings, my name is Dara. I am a photographer, I`m Ukrainian, living in Paris.
I repeat this phrase three times a week in my French classes, a language that stubbornly eludes my grasp. Even I present myself as a photographer, a significant portion of my income is derived from waiting tables, but I sense my greater potential within the realm of photography.
So, I believe it is fitting to introduce myself here.
My submission and my photos convey the sentiment, the tremor of returning home. As a Ukrainian who once departed for one of the world's most beautiful cities, the act of returning to homeland, situated on the fringes of a country embroiled in war, carries a significance. It involves reuniting with elderly parents, relatives coping with disabilities, beloved sisters, and all those who have 'remained.' The quiver of reunions and farewells, the weight of abandonment, and an immense, ancestral love for all that is uneven in homeland.
In conclusion, I would be delighted to offer a glimpse into my perspective. Just a fragment, as I discreetly observe.
