Geographies of Silence investigates the intersection between geography and stillness. Photographed above five thousand meters in the volcanic Andes, the series reveals a world where matter dissolves into light and silence defines space itself.

This series explores quiet landscapes shaped by time, erosion, and human absence. The images were made during repeated journeys through remote regions, where silence becomes a form of presence. Rather than documenting a place, the work reflects on endurance, memory, and the slow rhythm of the land.

Topography of Light: Captured from the Balcony of Pissis at 5,000 meters above sea level in the Argentine Andes, this image depicts a landscape shaped by wind, silence, and altitude. The air sharpens color and form, revealing volcanic slopes, deep blues, and a frozen desert suspended in time. Here, the sky feels near, and the land speaks of ancient endurance.

Crossing the Silence: A lone donkey crosses an endless desert road under the Andean sun, surrounded by layers of ochre and crimson mountains. The stillness of the landscape and the vast solitude of the highlands merge here — where time seems to pause, and nature takes the lead.

Moonrise Over the Red Mountains: A surreal desert landscape where crimson and ochre mountains rise beneath a deep, luminous blue sky. The moon hangs pale and distant, adding a dreamlike stillness to the stark, mineral beauty of the scene.

Where the Earth Forgets Time: In the highlands of the Andes, wind-carved slopes unfold in surreal shades of red, gold, and violet. The quiet immensity of the desert meets the delicate texture of the grasses, creating a landscape that feels both ancient and dreamlike — a place where time seems to hold its breath.

Solitude Under the High Andean Sky: A lone vicuña stands in the vast immensity of the Andean highlands, where the earth dissolves into stone and the sky stretches in layers of deep cobalt and drifting white. The untouched silence of the altiplano amplifies the elegance and fragility of this wild creature, captured in a moment of pure solitude beneath one of the highest and clearest skies on Earth.

Standing Against Time: A solitary rock formation rises from the desert floor, shaped by erosion, wind, and centuries of silence. Its warm, earthen tones contrast with the deep blue sky, creating a quiet tension between permanence and fragility. The landscape feels timeless, as if the land itself were pausing to remember.
