Increasing number of abandoned buildings in Brazil.

Future of the past

In the last decades the Brazil country has suffered with the expansion of several enterprises, which arrive with the promise of job creation, improvements in living conditions of the people, dynamism of the economy and growth.

They however end up taking negative impacts such as: pollution, diseases in the local population, changes in the natural landscapes, biomes and changes in the way of life affected communities, removals, contamination of watercourses, silting up, population swelling during the period of construction, real estate speculation in affected lands, slave labor, among others.

These impacts arise from the lack of technical planning of the governors and also of the bankruptcy of many construction companies that abandon these works generating a loss of millions of dollars for the country.

The culture of abandoned of the construction works in the country, in which its rulers discontinue the works of their predecessors to inaugurate, often precariously, their own, has become recurrent in the country, and, has established conflicts with the local communities, because these abandoned places end up being used for the practice of prostitution and the consumption of illegal drugs, thus increasing violence and insecurity.
