these are simply my favorite pictures "taken from the hip" -- usually the pocket point-and-shoot -- with little or no intent or direction.

for over ten years i have carried a camera almost everywhere -- onto rollercoasters, high school football fields, bad dates, dance floors. this is not unusual anymore in the age of the iPhone, but the experience sculpted my eye and remains my favorite photographic pursuit: looking, looking for the instant one falls in love with a bit of light, looking for the moment when trust is in the picture, walking and looking some more.
