"FAMILY" is a series of portraits of my parents that explores family ties, identity and vulnerability. I create visual dialog between generations about love, support and acceptance
This work is a self-reflection on my childhood, when my parents used to dress me up in different costumes for celebrations. Back then, they helped me enter roles and imagine myself as someone else. Today I return this experience to them, inviting them to participate in a game with images, roles, and symbols.
For a long time, I persuaded them to become my models despite their doubts and fear of “being laughed at.” Eventually, they realized how important it was for me and supported my vision, opening themselves up even when the ideas seemed strange or abstract.
In the series, I use symbolism, imagery, and visual metaphors to convey the emotional world and subtle relationships between parents and daughter, while also evoking the intimacy of family memory. These are not just photographs - they are an attempt to reveal their inner essence, to show joy, shame, playfulness, and vulnerability, while reflecting my own path of growing up and revisiting childhood experience.
