An echo
‘Echosystem’ approaches the female sexuality. The title is a play on the words ‘echo’ and ‘ecosystem’.
An echo implies the resonance between two things. It can be as much about two women between them, establishing a carnal dialogue, as about echoing oneself, masturbating, being between one's real "being" and one's fantasy, one's outside and one's inside. The vagueness settles around these two taboos.
An ecosystem implies a resonance between different living beings, but also between living beings and their environment. Like sexuality, the ecosystem is the result of exchanges - of energy or matter - and connections. The ‘environment’ of female sexuality is evoked by representations of its anatomy (such as drawings of female organs) and still life.
