Children

Using layered imagery that merges past and present, the works reflect how family histories are carried within us while questioning the legacies we choose to leave behind.

These photos explore family and cultural expectations, inspired by my wife’s traditional Chinese upbringing and our decision not to have children—a difficult break from family norms. The photograph reflect the fragility of lineage and the weight of legacy. Through projections of our family, I examine how generations are carried within us and how a bloodline can end with one choice. These images process the experience of challenging traditions, unfulfilled wishes, and the stories we choose to continue—or let go. They embody the delicate interplay between heritage, identity, and the decisions that shape our lives.
