Character Building (Part 1)

This project reflects on my childhood home and the environment in which I grew up. Nestled in the countryside of rural Andalucía, between Coín and Alozaina, surrounded by olive groves, broken fences, and the improvised pathways made by goats and wild dogs

While at university, I began experimenting with flash gels at twilight, revisiting spaces where I had spent countless hours making dens, starting fires, catching turtles, and having stick fights.

Just before the end of my degree the outbreak of COVID-19 forced me to leave the UK, and I was fortunate enough to spend lockdown back at this house. Each evening I retraced the landscape with my camera, gradually extending the series over the following three years.
