Working as a commercial photographer, I try to get away from the main events and capture spontaneous behavior within such constricted spaces like function rooms. The situation that presents itself as the moment of celebration contains a great amount of seemingly unnoticeable moments.
Working as a commercial photographer, I try to get away from the main events and capture spontaneous behavior within such constricted spaces like function rooms. The situation that presents itself as the moment of celebration contains a great amount of seemingly unnoticeable moments, where the escape to the kid's mind can be observed.
It'is not constructed images, it was not staged or planned before, the thought about what it could represent came to my head a week after taking it, during the selection process for the client. I decided not to send it with the rest of the set as I thought they would not like it or accept it for being shown to other guests and their friends. Photography is my own way of storytelling. And what I like the most about it is the fact that everyone can have their own interpretation of the image. The meaning of the photograph depends on many aspects. That is also the reason why I try to avoid giving meaning through the title as well. I want the observer to be able to decode the image as they like.
Now I can see some of my emotions - the young polish girl lost in the foreign country, a bit lonely - captured in that series. Or maybe it is only the emotions of the child, simply escaping the crowded place in search for some freedom to play around.
