Buddhists

A Buddhist girl wearing a typical Vietnamese traditional dress is praying in front of Lord Buddha. The place where the statue is located is at Linh Ung pagoda, Son Tra, Da Nang, this is the tallest statue of Quan Am in Vietnam, on the occasion of Vietnamese New Year, I went to the temple to find inspiration to take pictures and met a girl. wearing a red ao dai, I immediately asked her permission to let me take this photo. The surrounding landscape is a few flower pots, grass makes the photo have natural vitality, behind the Buddha is a large rock and a bamboo tree so high that we will see him when we look at the statue of Quan Am Buddha. so big and great… I can't even imagine that scene.

Maybe you don't know who Guan Yin Buddha is, so I'll talk a little bit about Guan Yin Buddha for you to understand: Quan Yin (觀音/kan'on, formerly Avalokitesvara but by avoiding the word The in the king's name) Duong is Ly The Dan, so it is called Quan Am or Quan Am) is the name of a Bodhisattva named Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (觀世音菩薩/avalokiteśvara) in countries such as Vietnam, China, Korea, Japan and Vietnam. neighboring countries. Chinese Buddhists often worship the four Great Bodhisattvas of Chinese Buddhism, including Guanyin and the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra (普賢/samantabhadra), Jizhong (地藏/kṣitigarbha) and Manjushri. -beneficial (文殊師利/mañjuśrī). In Vietnam, the common worship of Quan Am is to erect a large outdoor statue with the image of Quan Am standing on a lotus called Quan Am Dai Dai, worshiping in a smaller space outside in the yard called Quan Am Cac, and Worshiping in the house, there is an altar called Quan Am Palace.

Guanyin Bodhisattva is often mentioned next to Amitabha Buddha (Sanskrit amitābha) in the Lotus Sutra, chapter 25 with the name Universal Gate, the Bodhisattva's deeds are clearly presented and praised. In China and Vietnam, Guan Yin is often expressed in female form.

Guanyin embodies in all forms to save sentient beings, especially in the tribulations of fire, water, demons, and swords. Women without children also often pray for Guan Yin. Guan Yin is also often mentioned next to Amitabha Buddha (sa. amitābha) and in the Lotus Sutra, chapter 25 with the name Universal Gate, the Bodhisattva's deeds are clearly presented and praised. In China and Vietnam, Guan Yin is often expressed in female form.

In mythology, scholarly literature (such as China's Journey to the West), folklore, or in Buddhist scriptures (such as the Universal Gate, the Shurangama Sutra and the Lotus Flower), Avalokitesvara Yin Bodhisattva is considered the most powerful Bodhisattva, only after Buddha. This may be because Guanyin is a Bodhisattva who saves sentient beings and is a typical Bodhisattva for the spirit of Mahayana Buddhism. elevated him to such importance, distinct from Hinayana Buddhism. This further increases the devotion of Buddhists to Guanyin Bodhisattva. In every temple, there is usually a statue of Buddha in the middle, two sides are statues of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and Dai The Chi Bodhisattva, but outside the temple grounds, most of them have statues of Buddha. but not or less seen than the statues of other Buddhas or bodhisattvas.

The name Avalokitesvara comes from a Buddhist legend, believing that when spiritual practitioners reach righteous results, their five senses can be used together. That is, they can use their ears to "see" images, use their eyes to "hear" sounds, their tongues to smell, and so on. According to this belief, the name Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva means: the Bodhisattva always "sees" the lamentation and suffering in sentient beings' confusion and is ready to help or speak the Dharma when needed.

According to the Chinese concept, Guan Yin resides at Puta Mountain in Eastern China. Buddha Mountain is one of the Four Great Mountains, the four residences of the four Great Bodhisattvas of Chinese Buddhism. In China - until the 10th century - Guan Yin was still kept in male form, even in the cave in Dunhuang, people see a statue of Guan Yin with a beard. Around the 10th century, Guan Yin was depicted wearing a white shirt, in the form of a woman. Perhaps this stems from the mixing of Buddhism and Taoism during this period.
