Bleica: Slight Obsession

Bleica explores the nature of obsession, whether light or overwhelming, amusing or unsettling, absurd or exhausting. Through distorted forms and repetitive gestures, the project reflects a state of barely contained compulsion, emotional friction, and the chaotic layering of fixations, anxieties, and frustrations. It operates as a balancing act between humor and disquiet, childlike repetition and neurotic rigidity.

My artistic practice originates from a fascination with photography, shaped by personal compulsions such as emotional eating and collecting. Since 2013, I have worked with unconventional, edible materials, specifically corn-based puffs, initially bonded using saliva. These ephemeral sculptures often reference photographic equipment and masks, linking materiality with identity and bodily presence.

Most early works were accidentally destroyed. Only a few objects and photographic documents have survived (one of the included images presents a photo album from around 2013). In later years (2024-Ongoing), I began working with Skropak, a biodegradable, corn-based packing material. This time, glue replaced saliva, resulting in more stable yet conceptually consistent forms. My practice continues to explore impermanence, repetition, and the obsessive nature of creative acts, treating the photographic apparatus not as a neutral tool but as a fragile, embodied object.
