ANONIMATO URBANO

This serie of images is part of ''ANONIMATO URBANO'', an ongoing project born in 2023 and selected by Erik Kessels for the MIA photo fair 2024.

In an era where it is possible to create any type of image thanks to the development of new technologies and artificial intelligence, the role of photography is undoubtedly in a phase of redefinition. The boundary between the real and the artificial is thinner than ever, technicalities no longer impress as they once did, and our imagination risks being suppressed by algorithms and automated pathways.

For this reason, Anonimato Urbano has the prerogative of bringing the observer back to a primary role as the creator of the work, using photography as a bridge between the visible and the invisible, between identity and community. Every detail becomes an invitation to reflect on our relationship with the surrounding environment, an opportunity to rediscover humanity within the geometries of routine and the shadows of the city.

Through an evocative and symbolic visual language, these photographs draw attention to how even the smallest details can tell a multitude of experiences, emotions, and different personalities. The subjects portrayed become anonymous works/sculptures, open to subjective interpretation, to which we imprint our personal experiences and worldview. Photography thus becomes a means to build emotional and visual bridges, to bridge distances between the private and the public, between reality and imagination, between the everyday and the sublime.
