Altars of Imagination

In 2021, I relocated to the Netherlands, carrying only a suitcase and backpack due to limited space.
This meant leaving behind many of my childhood memories. Growing up with a large family photographic archive, I found myself in a foreign country with no memories.
So I decided to go in search of new images and create my Dutch family archive.
During my three years in the Netherlands, I collected archive material from different sources and created new memories. As I had no historical reference, I went to re-contextualise the collected photographs, placing them in imaginative contexts. In these fantastic places, where everything is possible, I gave shape to my memories of a Dutch family.

Altars of Imagination was born from the urge to construct memories in an unknown country with the intention of feeling at home again.
