This series was born from a shared moment. A time that was peaceful, vulnerable. It began as an attempt to hold onto a feeling: light, silence, the small details that stay with us after everything else fades. Like memories, the photographs appear softly and disappear.

At its centre is David, seen in fragments and glimpses. Sometimes close, sometimes distant, caught in moments of quiet rather than performance. Around him, the work opens out into landscape, texture, and detail: fog settling over rooftops, a path disappearing into trees, flowers and plants caught in passing light. These images are part of the memory too. The peripheral details that remain with us alongside the person, sometimes as vividly as the moment itself.

I appear too, though rarely whole. A hand, legs beneath a summer dress, a light softness within his solitary world. Present enough to shape the work without stepping fully into view. The series moves through many small, intimate frames, each holding a fragment of a larger feeling rather than offering a complete account.

The photographs are small in format, black and white, shot on film with a Canon AV-1 using Ilford HP5 and self-printed. Their scale mirrors their subject: these are not grand statements, but traces. A gesture, a piece of light, a landscape, a fleeting presence. Gathered the way memory gathers things, imperfectly and out of order.
