• At the threshold of a great war here in 2025, where words and meanings are collapsing, I find myself pondering the often hidden desires of people to live different lives, to be other selves in other places.

  C.P. Cavafy writes in "The City," “You ruined your life here, in this little corner, and throughout the world you wasted it.”

  Life slips through our fingers if we do not dare to embrace it. What life do we long to live? What dreams, what hopes, what struggles seek liberation?

  From one end of the world to the other, it’s the same everywhere...

  The images were created from 2017 to 2024 in Sitia, Crete, and Tokyo.

  All of the images are analog, using specific film stocks and two cameras: a medium format 6x6 and a 35mm. Some images are light-struck on the undeveloped film, as I wanted to leave a part of the work to chance.

  This aspect brings me peace compared to the highly controlled digital world.
