Sea Bones is a series of Risograph prints created with Caterina Morigi in a limited edition of 15 copies, numbered and signed by the artist.
The triptych is part of the Sea Bones project:
"In the biomedical field, the exoskeletons of marine creatures, shells, sea urchin spines and cuttlefish bones are being studied to recreate missing parts of human bones. The compatibility of these seemingly dissimilar elements demonstrates that there is in fact a substantial relationship between humans and nature.
Our skeleton is composed of calcium phosphate, while marble and shells are composed of calcium carbonate, a very similar and transformable substance.
Through photography, the project merges the micro and macro aspects of matter, superimposing the various layers of reality in a possible new alliance..."
