Photographer Carlos Llamas presents 35MMiami, a collection of over 80 street photography images captured in black-and-white and color film. These photographs provide a unique perspective of Miami's people, culture, and streets.

35MMiami is a personal long-term street photography project and photobook by photographer Carlos Llamas that explores the emotional, cultural, and visual complexity of everyday life in Miami through the language of 35mm film. Featuring more than 80 images captured in both black-and-white and color film, the project moves beyond postcard representations of the city to focus on candid moments, urban contradictions, humor, irony, and the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit.

Developed as an evolving film archive of Miami’s streets, 35MMiami embraces spontaneity, imperfections, and observation as essential elements of visual storytelling. Through layered compositions, reflections, fragmented cityscapes, and fleeting human interactions, the work invites viewers to reconsider the city not as a fixed identity, but as a constantly shifting urban collage. This approach emerged from years of exploring overlooked corners of Miami and searching for the street life hidden beneath its car-centered image.

The project has grown beyond a personal archive into a broader photographic practice, leading to collaborations, exhibitions, and the international circulation of selected works while continuing to document the rhythms and contradictions of everyday urban life. It is both a portrait of Miami and a reflection on how cities shape our routines, identities, and ways of seeing.

For reference, the published book contains approximately 90 pages and presents Miami through both color and black-and-white film photography.
