PhMuseum 2022 Women Photographers Grant Now Open For Submissions

Present your work to this 6th edition, offering €10,000 in cash prizes, screenings at Photo Vogue Festival, individual exhibitions at Noorderlicht 2023 Photofestival and PhMuseum Lab, and much more.

The 6th edition of the PhMuseum Women Photographers Grant is now open for submissions. From today applicants can present their photography projects to our open call meant to support and finance female and non-binary photographers while pursueing its original mission to work for gender equality in the photography industry.

The main prize recipients while share €10,000 in cash. All the shortlisted works (up to 40) will be projected at the coming edition of the Photo Vogue Festival in Milan, while the Vogue Italia photography department, led by Alessia Glaviano, will further select a work among all of the submissions that will be granted an online featured interview on the magazine. The call also offers exhibition and educational opportunities thanks to the work of the PhMuseum team that will handpick a project for a solo exhibition at PhMuseum Lab in 2023 and six photographers who will each access a free 60-minute online portfolio review from PhMuseum’s education program. Morever, the Dutch Organization Noorderlicht will invite an applicant to exhibit at the Noorderlicht 2023 Photofestival.

To participate, photographers are invited to submit one or more projects centered around a specific theme, narrative or concept. All approaches are welcome from classic to more experimental projects. By applying photographers retain full copyright or their images at all times. The judging is delegated to an independent jury comprising Alessia Glaviano (Head of Global Photo Vogue and Director of Photo Vogue Festival), Amanda Hajjar (Director of Exhibitions at Fotografiska New York), Hoda Afshar (Photographer) and Jane'a Johnson (Artistic Director Foam Fotografiemuseum). The review will happen between October and November with the shortlist to be announced just before Photo Vogue Festival.

Over these years, PhMuseum has discovered many outstanding artists, and it look forward to continuing this tradition. The deadline is set for 6 October, while there is a reduced entry fee option until 15 September. Learn more and apply at phmuseum.com/w22.
