A daily monochrome photo-poetry series by naozo. Since 2025, each work pairs a moment from everyday life with a poem from NZ, the artist's future self. Through glass, light, and silence, the series turns self-doubt into dialogue.

Day594【Solitude】
I do not stand to be understood.
I stand to understand myself.
DEAR naozo,
Why
Do you stand
That is what
I would ask
People
Long
To be understood
By someone
To be recognized
Accepted
And to confirm
Their existence
Within others
Yet
Sometimes
I wonder
Whether
There is
A self
That can only
Be seen
When you stand
Where no one
Understands you
Solitude
Does not
Hide you
Rather
It strips away
What is unnecessary
The voices
Judgments
And expectations
Of others
And where
None of them
Can reach
Something
Remains
That is
Yourself
Unable
To escape
Unable
To disguise yourself
You simply
Face
Who you are
Solitude
Is not
Standing
Above others
It is
Standing
Without looking away
From yourself
Even when
No one
Understands you
I believe
We cannot
Know ourselves
Only through
Others
There must be
A place
Where we stand
Alone
I do not stand
To be understood
I stand
To understand
Myself
What do you think

This story is a work of fiction. Except for the named individuals, all elements are products of imagination.
The boundary between reality and fiction is intentionally ambiguous, and its interpretation is left to the reader.
