A daily monochrome photo-poetry series by naozo. Since 2025, each work pairs a moment from everyday life with a poem from NZ, the artist's future self. Through glass, light, and silence, the series turns self-doubt into dialogue.

Day591【Afterlight】
Even when everything sinks into darkness, there is a will that refuses to die.
DEAR naozo,
What
Remains
That is what
I would ask
When there
Is light
People
Can believe
In their
Own strength
They can
See the road
See tomorrow
And move
Without doubting
Why
They continue
But
Darkness
Is merciless
It takes away
What was visible
Shakes
What was believed
And leaves us
Unable to know
Even where
We stand
Yet
Sometimes
I wonder
Whether
There is
Something
Darkness can
Never take
It is not
Hope
Nor light
Nor salvation
Given
By someone else
It is
The will
That still
Burns
Within
Beaten
By rain
Stripped
Of form
Even when
The world
Sinks
Into blackness
It refuses
To disappear
I believe
Afterlight
Is not
The light
Left behind
After darkness
It is
The trace
Of a will
That darkness
Could not
Make surrender
So
Do not
Fear
The darkness
Even when
Everything
Sinks into it
There is
A will
That refuses
To die
What do you think
