A daily monochrome photo-poetry series by naozo. Since 2025, each work pairs a moment from everyday life with a poem from NZ, the artist's future self. Through glass, light, and silence, the series turns self-doubt into dialogue.

Day533【Rest】
DEAR naozo,
Will you move forward
Or rest
Which
will you choose
People
Praise progress
Praise endurance
Praise effort
But
What about rest
Is rest
Merely a pause
in progress
I do not think so
A bow
Will break
If drawn forever
Breath
Cannot continue
By exhaling alone
Where there is day
There is night
And no one calls that
laziness
Then why
Do people alone
Feel guilty
For resting
Sometimes
I wonder
Whether rest
Is not stopping
But preparing
To continue
If you are tired
Rest
If you are sleepy
Sleep
That is not weakness
Perhaps it is life
Trying to protect itself
Will you move forward
Or rest
I do not have
the answer
But
Those who never learn
to rest
May never learn
How to continue
What do you think
from NZ
This story is a work of fiction. Except for the named individuals, all elements are products of imagination. The boundary between reality and fiction is intentionally ambiguous, and its interpretation is left to the reader.
