For this fifth edition, the Salon Polyptyque has reinvented itself, with an affirmed biennial rhythm, a wider selection of galleries, the investment of several locations and the introduction of a new prize, the Polyptyque artist’s book prize.

Overview

Polyptyque creates resonances between a series of solo shows: the work of artists represented by internationally renowned galleries, an emerging regional and national scene, and works from private collections. The result is a veritable laboratory of form and thought.

Today, Marseille has established itself as the essential end-of-summer art event. With Art-o-Rama, Paréidolie, Polyptyque, as well as Gallery Night and Systema, the Rentrée de l’art contemporain 2024 brings together over a hundred French and international galleries, dozens of art centers and artist collectives, and thousands of professionals.

At the heart of this artistic effervescence, Polyptyque has offered a special place to photography since 2018. Original and convivial, the human-sized fair explores all the territories of contemporary photography, while fostering unique encounters between artists, gallery owners and institutional players in photography.

The attending galleries include Galerie Sit Down (Paris), Galerie Binome (Paris), Galerie Françoise Besson (Lyon), Galerie Parallax (Aix-en-Provence), The Merchant House (Amsterdam), L’Espace Jörg Brockmann (Genève), Galerie Robet Dantec (Nantes), Galerie XII (Paris), and Galerie Olivier Waltman (Paris). This selection will be complemented by two cartes blanches. One to the Galiana-Wiart collection, which will present a solo show by Antoine d’Agata, (complemented by a new hanging of the Toucher le Silence exhibition at the Centre Photographique Marseille), and a second to Mécènes du Sud, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and will present a large diptych by Emmanuelle Lainé produced for the occasion.
