Photo Gaspésie 2025

Exploring the passage of time, the traces left by encounters, friendship, forgetfulness, and absence, PASSAGES unfolds between memory and motion.

Overview

This year's theme questions our relationship to objects, places, others — and to fleeting moments. It is the transition between what was and what is to come, a space between two worlds where the echoes of the past meet the promises of the future. Like photography, which freezes a moment of reality while leaving room for interpretation and imagination, PASSAGES invites us to capture those thresholds — the invisible in-betweens where the image becomes memory, trace, and transformation. This year, the Rencontres, strengthened by international collaborations, will once again bring together voices from afar: photographers from France, Italy, and Japan, alongside artists from Canada and the Gaspé Peninsula.

The twelve international artists participating in this year's edition are Alessandra Calò and France Cayouette, Geoffrey James, Davide Degano, Ève Cadieux, Geoffrey James, Jocelyne Alloucherie, KAI Fusayoshi, Kassandra Reynolds, Masako Miyazaki, Mélissa Longpré, Pépite & Josèphe, Reno Salvail, and Stéphane Duroy.
