Limassol Photography Festival

The Limassol Photography Festival is making its debut on the 20th of October until the 12th of November 2023, in Limassol, Cyprus.

In its inaugural year, the LPF's agenda includes two exhibitions—one outdoors at Limassol Molos and one indoors at the 6x6 Centre for Photography—along with artists' talks and workshops.

The LPF aims to establish itself as an important annual event, both locally and internationally, contributing significantly to the presentation, development, and evolution of photography.

The theme chosen for 2023 is “Place or Landscape.”

Capturing a place through photography is a way to articulate the various factors that have contributed to its formation, development, and even disputes. The image can serve as a boundary marker between the natural and the man-made, offering insights into intricate issues such as property rights and accessibility. Such photos can influence how we perceive the world and contribute to shaping our own identities, touching on themes of belonging and deep familiarity with a place that sets it apart from all others. The identity of a location is shaped by a range of elements that make up its cultural landscape—people, topography, water features, climate, economic factors, and social and political influences.

As part of the modern photographic landscape, the Limassol Photography Festival aims to function as a means of recording contemporary social life in the various visual styles and perspectives of the photographers/creative artists, which project, suggest and sometimes enrich the photographic vocabulary.
