Gone & Leaving

Gone & Leaving is an accordion photobook presented as an installation. It weaves photographs and handwritten fragments to reflect on departure, memory, and the instability that follows leaving places, people, and parts of oneself.

Gone & Leaving is an accordion photobook presented as an installation. First created as a 13-meter-long object, it exists between book, sculpture, and emotional map.

Developed during a period of personal rupture, the work brings together photographs, handwritten fragments, and traces of absence. It reflects on departures, from places, relationships, and former versions of the self, and on the instability that follows.

For the exhibition, the accordion hangs in space, allowing viewers to walk around it and encounter its shifting layers from different perspectives. Its physical fragility mirrors the emotional state it emerged from.

The presentation curated by Anna Leyko, also includes a slide projection, In Between Loss and Whatever Comes After, showing material developed since late 2023 that expands the project’s narrative.
