Gone & Leaving is an intimate accordion book exploring departures, memory, and identity. Photographs, journal pages, and marks of absence create a layered, cinematic, and reflective experience.
Gone & Leaving began as a 13-meter-long accordion object, somewhere between installation, book, and emotional map. Created during a time of rupture, it collected fragments of images, thoughts, and emotional residue, searching for form through chaos.
For the exhibition, the accordion book is presented hanging, allowing viewers to move around it, interact with its layered surfaces, and experience its instability and depth. A slide projection, In Between Loss and Whatever Comes After, curated by Anna Leyko, reveals unseen aspects of the project developed since late 2023.
At its core, the project explores departures — from places, people, and fragments of identity — and asks what remains when everything familiar dissolves. The work invites viewers to inhabit the in-between, reflecting on memory, absence, and transformation.
