I grew up in the South-West of Germany and studied photography and visual arts at the Art Academy of Mainz (Vladimir Spacek & Klaus Vogelgesang), conceptual art and intermedia at the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague (Miloš Šejn & Milan Knížák) and fine art the Sarojini Naidu School of Arts & Communication Hyderabad, India (Laxma Goud). In addition I studied philosophy at the Universities of Cologne and Mainz.
2013, I participated in a Roger Ballen Masterclass.
1997 I moved to Berlin and travelled most European and Asian countries since. From 2003 – 2010 I lived between Berlin and Melbourne, Australia.
My photomedia work has been shown internationally in institutions and festivals including Fridericianum Kassel, Deichtorhallen Hamburg, CCP Melbourne, ACP Sydney, FORMAT Derby, Voies Off Arles, Noorderlicht Groningen, Encontros da Imagem Braga, EMAF Osnabrück, Videonale Bonn, Edinburgh Art Festival, Athens Video Art Festival, Media Forum Moscow, WRO Media Art Biennale Wroclaw, Biennale Le Havre and Biennale of Electronic Arts Perth.
2013, I have been awarded the „Prix Voies Off“ / Arles for the strength of my photo work “how to disappear completely / THE POEMS”. 2015 I received „The Photography Show Award“ at the FORMAT Festival in Derby.
Since 2004, I have lectured at Centre for Ideas – Victorian College of the Arts / University Melbourne, the Photography Studies College Melbourne, the Akademie für Bildende Künste Mainz, Hochschule Furtwangen, the Sommerakademie of Fotografie Forum Frankfurt, Westlicht Wien, F/Stop Leipzig, Centre for Contemporary Photography Melbourne, RMIT University Melbourne and Monash University Melbourne.
