Overview
The Visual Arts International Festival – VAiF26 invites photographers from Greece and abroad to participate in the Photography Portfolio – Open Call 2026, an open call dedicated to contemporary photographic practice and the promotion of emerging and established artists.
The aim of the open call is to present photographic portfolios distinguished by their thematic coherence, personal visual language, and contemporary artistic approach. The festival is looking for works that use photography as a medium of storytelling, documentation, research, or personal expression, highlighting diverse approaches to the contemporary image.
Practical Info
Participants can submit a portfolio of up to 10 photographs that form a coherent thematic unit or narrative proposal. The portfolio must include the project title, the artist statement, a curriculum vitae, a portrait of the artist, and full contact details.
The jury will select the best portfolios, which will be presented in the group exhibition in Thessaloniki, Greece, as part of the second Visual Arts International Festival – VAiF26 in November 2026. The selected artists will be informed via email, while the final results will be announced on the festival's official website and social networks.
The jury will consist of Stergios Karavatos (Independent Curator), Stefanos Kesidis (Artistic Director, Organizer of VAiF), Anastasia Markidou (Associate Professor, Director of the "FEM" Postgraduate Studies Program), and Manolis Skoufias (Director of Studies, ESP+).

The Visual Arts International Festival – VAiF is an international visual arts festival based in Thessaloniki, dedicated to photography, design, and contemporary forms of visual expression. In 2026, VAiF returns for its third edition, continuing to create an international meeting point for artists, creators, and audiences through exhibitions, open calls, screenings, talks, and parallel events from Greece and abroad.
