RPS – Royal Photographic Society offers photographers the chance to exhibit in a touring group show, with prizes including £1,000 awards and a two-week solo exhibition.

Overview

The International Photography Exhibition is held almost every year since 1854. The IPE presents an opportunity to exhibit in a Royal Photographic Society group touring exhibition around the country, alongside a prize fund to support future photographic projects.

The IPE is an open-call exhibition; all subjects and approaches can be submitted, including alternative photographic processes and experimental work. There are no predefined categories, allowing for a completely open submission. Exhibition selection is anonymous throughout, including the award recipients, with a changing guest selection panel for each edition.

Prize recipients are eligible for several awards: the IPE Award (£1,000 and a one-year RPS membership) and the Under 30s Award (£1,000 and a one-year RPS membership). From all submissions, 100 photographs will be selected for the touring exhibition at RPS partnering venues, and one photographer will be awarded a two-week solo exhibition, fully supported by the RPS.

Additional opportunities include features in the RPS Journal, with four photographers selected by the Editor, as well as the Selectors Spotlight, where five photographers will receive a statement by one of the guest selectors about why they selected the work, which will be included in the exhibition. All selected photographers will receive a digital copy of the IPE edition of the RPS Journal, and shortlisted photographers will be celebrated across RPS online and digital channels, including opportunities for Instagram takeovers.

Practical Info

Anyone of any age can submit their images to the IPE, including student, amateur, professional and non-professional photographers and image-makers worldwide. Entrants can submit four images from a series of work or four single images. One free single image entry is available to everyone.
