Raw Photo Fest invites photographers from around the world to take part in the first edition of a festival that reimagines how we experience photography.
Overview
From 7 to 10 May 2026, Alaior, on the island of Menorca, Spain, will transform into a living gallery, where images leave the white walls behind and come to life in streets, convents, cafés, private homes, and open landscapes.
Raw Photo Fest is looking for photographers whose work tells real, human stories, whether it's exploring moments on the street, journeys across cultures, politics, and history or glimpses into daily life. There's no theme; what connects all submissions is the art of storytelling.
Practical Info
This year's open call features two sections: the International Open Call, open to photographers from around the world, and the Balearic Islands Open Call, dedicated to photographers based in or connected to the Balearic Islands.
Entrants can only participate in either the International or Balearic category, not both. Images generated with AI are not permitted.
Prize recipients will share a total prize pool of €15,000€, with awards tiered based on the category of entry. The selected photographers of the International and Balearic Series categories each receive a €5,000 cash prize, while the selected photographers of the International and Balearic Singles categories are awarded €1,500 each. Additionally, two finalists from both categories will each receive €500.
Beyond the financial rewards, all prize recipients and finalists will have their work exhibited alongside photographers such as Alex Webb, Rebecca Norris Webb, Martin Parr, Cristina de Middel, and Steve McCurry, to name a few, for four days of discovery, dialogue, and inspiration, with the festival fully covering all production costs for the exhibitions. Series prize recipients will also see their stories featured in the fifth issue of The Raw Society Magazine. Plus, the festival provides free accommodation in Menorca, Spain, for the duration of the event.
The jury is composed of Sarah Leen, Anette Skuggedal, Christelle Enquist Gomila, Jorge Delgado-Ureña.
