Pride Photo invites photographers worldwide to submit work celebrating LGBTQIA+ lives and experiences, with selected photographers receiving €500 per work included in the exhibition and international exposure from spring 2027 to spring 2028.

Overview

Pride Photo 2027 invites photographers worldwide to share stories that celebrate and explore the beauty, strength, and diversity of LGBTQIA+ lives. The contest is open to photographers of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels, from established professionals to emerging voices. Selected photographers will receive €500 per work included in the Pride Photo Exhibition 2027, which will be shown in Amsterdam and travel internationally from spring 2027 to spring 2028.

Selected photographers gain international exhibition exposure reaching visual arts professionals, photography lovers, visitors, and the media, and have their work featured across Pride Photo's digital and print platforms, credited and tagged where possible.

Practical Info

Photographers may submit work in two categories: Stories (project series of 3–15 images exploring LGBTQIA+ experiences) or Single Images (up to 5 standalone images per project that convey a story in a single frame). Each photographer may submit a maximum of two projects per application, and multiple applications by the same artist are allowed.

Applicants must provide personal information including name, birthday, nationality, postal address, phone number, email address, biography (maximum 1,500 characters), and CV. For each project or image, photographers must provide title, year of creation, place of creation, and description (maximum 1,500 characters). Images must be at least 3,000 pixels on the long side. Any use of AI must be declared with a clear description of how it was used. Captions written using AI systems are not accepted.

All photographic formats and approaches are welcome, including documentary photography, portraiture, collage, photographic intervention, and AI-assisted imagery. AI-assisted submissions are assessed individually, but fully AI-generated images are not accepted. Any use of AI must be declared and clearly explained. The organisation states that it is "committed to representing the lived experiences and realities of LGBTQIA+ people and communities" and believes images representing LGBTQIA+ lives and experiences should be grounded in lived reality.

Prize recipients will be announced in spring 2027 via email. The 2027 jury consists of Katy Hundertmark, Papa De, Marit Lena Hermmann, Marwan Kaboor, and Supranav Dash (Jury Chair).
