Palm* Photo Prize is inviting all photographers not represented by a photography agency, currently or prior to the application.

Overview

Palm* Photo Prize is a biennial submission based exhibition for a new generation of photographers. This year they collaborate with Melkweg Expo and Capture One, Fotolab Kiekie, Mondrian Fund, Spectrum, INK, Canvas Represents, Lock, 10 14 Gallery, New Dimensions and i-D.

Practical Info

Entrants are limited to two images per person, with no entry fee. There are no themes and strong stand-alone images are encouraged. Exhibited entries will be in the running to win prizes in the following categories: Judge’s Panel 1st place (€1000 Artist Grant), Judge’s Panel 2nd place (€500 Artist Grant), People’s Choice Award. In addition, the photography agency Canvas Represents would like to present one recipient with an ‘Mentorship Award’. The winner will receive a three meeting mentorship with Canvas team of agents, focussing on a portfolio review, as well as an editorial & commercial strategy to help the recipient with the next steps in their career. Plus, 100 entries will be selected by Palm* and resulting Palm* Photo Prize exhibition at Melkweg Expo in Amsterdam in May 2024 and at 10 14 Gallery in London in September 2024. Part of the judges panel are Gem Fletcher (Writer, Photo Editor and Podcaster), Dana Lixenberg (Photographer), Alastair McKimm (Editor-in-Chief of i-D), Emma Bowkett (FT Weekend Magazine), Kalpesh Lathigra (Photographer and Educator), Jonathan Tusder (Canvas Represents), Derek Wiafe (UAL) and Lola Paprocka (Palm* Studios).

Palm Studios is a London-based publisher focusing on photography, curated and edited by Lola Paprocka. Founded in 2015, Palm* showcases photographers and artists through creative projects, online features, exhibitions, events and book launches.
