Vantage Point Sharjah 13 Open Call

Vantage Point Sharjah 13 (VPS13) invites photographers worldwide to submit new work for its 13th edition. Four winners will receive production support and showcase their work at Sharjah Art Foundation in July 2026.

Overview

Organized by the Sharjah Art Foundation, Vantage Point Sharjah 13 invites photographers from around the world to submit proposals for new photographic works, which will be exhibited at Sharjah Art Foundation’s new 450-square-metre Photography Gallery in July 2026.

Four artists will be selected through this open call. Each winner will receive a production fee of AED 40,000 to support the creation of their photographic series, along with an artist fee. Throughout the process, artists will receive curatorial and production assistance, and their work will be included in a printed publication accompanying the exhibition. Selected works will be showcased during VPS13, and artists will be invited to the opening of the exhibition.

Practical Info

Applicants are required to submit a PDF portfolio showcasing at least three bodies or series of existing work, a CV and biography, and a detailed proposal for new work, including an artist statement and reference images. A budget breakdown showing the allocation of the AED40,000 production fee is also required. Optional materials such as installation views, video links, exhibition statements, press clippings, or reviews may also be included.

The selection process will focus on the visual and conceptual impact of the work, the artist’s approach to presentation and materials, and the distinctiveness and critical potential of the proposed project. The deadline for submissions is 31 October 2025 at 11:59pm (UAE local time, GMT +4).
